#GiftIdeas: Make a #Quilt Ornament as a #Secret Santa Gift @ SecretPalTeachers.WordPress.com

The FREE printable no-sew ornament pattern is available at: https://chellywood.com/2018/11/15/crafty-hanukkah-or-christmas-diy-tutorial-w-free-pattern-chellywood-com-3/

You can download the pattern and cut out a bunch of fabric squares. As you see in the video, you would use straight pins to poke the squares into a Styrofoam ball. Then just turn each square into triangles (shown in the video) and pin them down in layers.

It’s a fairly simple project to make, and what secret Santa would love to get one of these in their stocking?

A little mouse told me what to give my #SecretPal or #Office Buddy (#Logitech)

Searching for something fun to give your secret pal or office buddy? Have you noticed all the nifty styles that a bluetooth mouse comes in these days?

I’m not affiliated with the Logitech company, but I do own (and love) a Logitech mouse. Mine was relatively inexpensive (under $20) and it works great! I also get lots of compliments on it because it’s such a fun style.

Here are some of the different styles offered by Logitech:

And there are many more! Mine is a cute little owl, for example.

#4thOfJuly #GiftIdeas for your #SecretPal

Image shows a worn baseball glove holding a baseball next to two mason jars filled with home-made lemonade over ice.

Image: iClipart

I realize it’s only June 4th, but we’ve got to plan ahead, right?

For my 4th of July Secret Pal gift idea, I’d like to suggest putting together all the fixin’s for your secret pal to make himself/herself some home-made lemonade. Search for a recipe online and print it out. Also place the following goodies in one of those summer jars you see on sale at every store in town:

  • A dozen fresh lemons
  • A bag of C&H pure cane sugar
  • A wooden spoon
  • A juice squeezer

Tie a big yellow ribbon around the jar, and you’ve got a 4th of July gift for your Secret Pal!

#MothersDay or #FathersDay #GiftIdeas from SecretPalTeachers.WordPress.com

Image shows a young woman putting together a scrapbook.

Here’s an inexpensive gift you can make for your mom or dad that will really make them smile!

Step 1: Go through your old scrapbooks and find old photos of yourself and your siblings.

Step 2: Use a scanner to make digital copies of the photos or just take pictures of them with your cell phone.

Step 3: Edit the photos in a photo studio program, giving them sepia tones, silly mustaches, frames, captions, or another theme. (I recommend sticking to one theme throughout the production — like just silly mustaches on every page or just frames or just sepia.)

Step 4: Purchase an inexpensive photo booklet with sleeves that are easy to flip through.

Step 5: Put the photo booklet together with occasional famous quotes or written memories on every other page or so.

Step 6: Mail it to Mom or Dad using the postal service.

#SecretPal #GiftIdeas for #MayDay

Even if you don’t know anything about embroidery, a daisy stitch is a simple and fun stitch that can be used to make a cute card for your Secret Pal or office friend. Just have a look at the tutorial above. How easy is that?

Now consider using yarn and a yarn needle to daisy-stitch a gift card. Inside, you may want to put a little poem for May Day, like this:

Monday, May first

Is the first day of May

As the flowers bloom

Children come out to play

Your Secret Pal

Wishes to say…

Happy May Day

And there you go! It’s as simple as that. Please note that although my posts only happen once a month most of the year, these posts occur weekly during the holidays, when it’s “Secret Santa” season, so it’s a good idea to bookmark this website for later reference.

#SecretPal #Gift Ideas for a Man: home-made bread

Image shows five different kind of bread superimposed on one another.

Image: iClipart

Home-made bread is the all-time best secret pal gift idea for a man. What man doesn’t love a loaf of home-baked bread?

Okay, granted some men may be diabetic and/or on a low-carb diet. Do a little homework to make sure that isn’t the case before you place that yummy-smelling home-made bread on his desk in his cubicle. If you find that’s the case, maybe go with a Hickory Farms cheese sampler or something like that.

However most men really love a loaf of home-made bread.

If you’re not a confident baker, just go to the frozen foods aisle at your grocery store and buy the frozen loaf of ready-to-rise bread. Allow it to thaw and rise before baking it, following all the directions on the package. Show up at work the next day with that yummy, fresh-smelling bread under one arm and a from-your-secret-pal gift card in your hand.
